Rented two 125cc scooters in the off-season. Pleasantly surprised with two incredibly Sym Symphonies, barely out of their break-in period and virtually flawless bar a light scratch to one mirror. Top boxes and under-seat storage were so clean we ended up piling clothes in one of them, even. The service itself was very professional and went smoothly. We ordered online, arrived, spent maybe fifteen minutes picking them up, and were on our way. Unfortunately I contracted food poisoning so we dropped them back a bit early, but the Rent a Car receptionist was happy to accept the bikes back from us so we didn't have to wait for the scooter-specific crew to show up at our revised return time. Return was also quick and easy.

Had great customer service with We Rent. Friendly staff who spoke good English and it was simple enough hiring experience. Top up with fuel on return. 300 euro bond on credit card was 'cancelled' quickly on return. My wife and I rented one sym symphony 125cc with top box (2 helmets provided free) for two consecutive days 14th-15th July 2018 for total 40 euros. Bike was in great nick and rode much like my Honda PCX back home and reached 90kph fine (which you need on their fast roads!) dropping to 60ish on the steep climbs. You can reach Porto Moniz (up thru the mountain tunnels) and back comfortably in a day stopping at places on the way. We tried come back over the Paul da Serra but it was low rain cloud. Two things to watch out for...1. the slip roads to join their motorways are very short, so joiners simply stop (we weren't expecting that!)... 2. the way into the shop's road to drop off the bike comes down round the building from behind and you turn right into it from the road on the left (as u look at the building) - it's a two lane one way street ... but I didn't know that but got lucky much to the taxi drivers astonishment as I joined from the promenade carriageway!. You won't need a bike licence as they rent on a car licence in Portugal. I have my 125 licence and wouldn't recommend anyone just bragging one of these for the day - nearly saw another customer take out the shop rep failing to use left brake to control initial starting / turning speed yikes. We took gloves, headscarfs and water proofs which all got use. Enjoy.
