It's like a King's garden. Different trees, amazing fountains and waterfalls, humid air, blossoming orchids. Strongly recommend. Also the museum is very nice there. On the upper floors there is an exhibition of contemporary African art and on the ground floor there is a collection of minerals. Very beautiful place!

Beautiful stunning tropical garden. So much to see with a mix of cultural features including Japan. The ticket also offers wine tasting (fortified Madeira wine). Worthy to visit!!

This place is really amazing! So much to see, that you could spend whole day here. They have plants from all over the world in one places and few interesting exhibitions. You won't be dissapointed!

Stunning gardens. Interesting mix of cultures including a collection of stone heads from Zimbabwe and Chinese and Japanese inspired bridges and water features. Cafe has great views out on the gardens and lower port and if it's a clear day you can see for miles out to sea

So nice to visit, weather was great and not packed with tourists. Managed to get some great photos! Nice for a day trip by taking the cable car up from town.
