Dino our guide for the sunrise guided walk to Pico do Arieiro was amazing! He was so knowledgeable, attentive and honestly just a lovely person. We were very lucky on our walk because the weather couldn't have been better in winter. Saw the sunrise above the clouds and not a single drop of rain that day. Would highly recommend booking with Dino and Madeira Trail Tours!

After eating and drinking too much of Madeira's fantastic food and wine, I decided I needed some exercise. Booking was easy and quick via email, available the very next day. Dino is very friendly and knowledgeable, having grown up in Madeira provided heaps of local knowledge and is obviously a very experienced trail runner. I was a bit apprehensive about the amount of ascent on even the easy run we did from Poiso, but Dino let me set the pace and we walked the particularly steep bits, stopping here and there to catch my breath and take in the stunning views. I was picked up at 9 and was back in the hotel by 12.30, spent about 2h15min running 14km and 500m ascent. Amazing experience all round and if you like running, a great way to see some of the more remote trails you wouldn't find without a local. Thanks for a great morning out!

I experienced two excellent tours with Dinarte. Tours were well tailored for my level of fitness and interests. With Dinarte’s help I was able to use my time in Madeira very efficiently. The tours allowed me to see different beauties of the island. The routs and time of the trips were very well planned that allowed us to escape touristic crowds and get to beautiful hidden locations. I recommend Dinarte if you would like to spend your time on Madeira usefully and with great joy!!!

Wonderful experience! I did 2 trail runs with Dinarte (Peaks et Fanal). He is a guide with whom you can feel completely confident, he knows the paths perfectly well and adapts his pace to any runner/hiker. Plus, you spend a good time and learn lots of things discussing with him. It's a different way (the best!) to discover the island, whatever your level is. You can NOT be disappointed!

I had a great experience with Dinarte. We were in contact beforehand to determine the best hiking route for me. I decided on the very difficult, but rewarding hike from Pico Areiro to Pico Ruivo. The hike took about 6 hours, with Dinarte sharing lots of facts about the wildlife, flora, and fauna. You could tell he’s familiar with the trail, as he gave warning of when to duck my head in the tunnels (flashlight provided), unstable rocks, and interesting visual points along the journey. In addition to great guidance, he was happy to stop at a nearby breakfast spot before the hike for me to purchase a quick bite. He also provided a few granola bars and water during the hike. I’m so grateful to Dinarte for guiding this hike and look forward to the next one!

My friend and I signed up for three days of running with Dinarte and we enjoyed it immensely. It’s like running with an old friend who knows the best areas of mountain tops of 6,000 feet (1,860 meters), along the coastal cliffs and into the wet & cool native forests following the levadas. I had run the Dublin Marathon last weekend while my friend was new to trail running but gave it hell. Dinarte accommodated us both. He’s warm and engaging, a local, knows the history and the local environment and can talk all day about running and ultra running since he’s done 100 milers himself. He picked us up at our hotel. (I loved the little cream pies they sell at the pastry shops for an energy boost.) Highly recommended!

The experience was awesome. To choose the tour you want is a perfect opportunity and Dino did the best he can to make it unforgettable. I enjoyed our walk to the pico ruivo and back. He give me so many information about the nature around and answer all of my questions about land an people. Thank you so much !
