We recently spent 3 hours with Filipe of Madeira Sidecars and had a great time. He took us very high in the hills, and took the time to explain the landscape, agriculture and other interesting sites. We highly recommend this tour if you are interested in seeing the island.

I did a 4 hours tour of the West side of Madeira with Nuno. He was the perfect guide - knowledgeable, relaxed and obviously very passionate about his island. Absolutely the highlight of our holiday. Highly recommended this lovely tour!!

Truly amazing experience and service, if you knew how good it was you would regret not booking it immediately. The quality is unquestionable, you are made to feel so comfortable and safe right from the get go. So friendly and accommodating you that you wouldn't hesitate to chat away and view the stunning landscape. Brilliant local knowledge and passionate which was very clear, Filipe knew every bit down to the most intricate detail.Even knew where to get the best and freshest poncha in Madeira. The riding skills were impeccable, so smooth and comfortable, it gave you a sense of ease so that you could take in the sights. If your going to Madeira you have to do this, done a few tours round the island with various operators and this surpasses them all! Thank you so much and we'll be seeing you next time!

I can't sing enough praises for Madeira Sidecar Tours and our guide and driver, Nuno. Being an avid scooter-sidecar enthusiast, I was excited to ride on the Ural bikes. While they're not known for being fast, relative to my 150cc bike, they're quite exciting, even if I'm being hucked along on the back of the rig. Madeira Sidecar Tours' bikes are kept in great condition--both inside and out. I felt they were safe operation and that Nuno took great care when it came to safety. I particularly liked that the helmets included an audio system, making it so we could hear Nuno even when driving. As I've found out since, not all sidecar tours include this feature. As for the tour, my sister and I were greeted promptly at the set pickup location. I particularly appreciate that the operator will pick us up where we wanted instead of having one specific meetup point. After a briefing and some coordination, we were on the road. Where we went came down to two factors: where we wanted to go and whether the weather would permit it. As Madeira was completely new to us, we let Nuno know that we wanted to get in as much of the island as possible. Because of the weather, Nuno opted to take us to the west of Funchal. Our tour included an outbound trip on the old mountain roads, which ascended from sea level to about 2000' amsl, winding around the ridges and valleys. While I know we were always safe, it was a bit of a thrill ride on those roads. We got only God knows how many villages west of Funchal before turning around, at which point, we split the time between the coastal roads and the modern four-land highways that bridge valleys and tunnel though mountains. During the trip, Nuno informed us about the industries on island and what life is like. The tour was informative and I got to know Madeira and its history in an intimate way.

Ride of our lives! The Madeira Side Car Tour is the only way to see the island, there is so much to see and take in which you can’t do in a car or on a coach. We had a personalised 4-hour tour from our hotel in Funchal to São Vicente, Seixal and Porto Moniz. We were greeted outside our hotel by Filipe who talked us through the route to make sure we were happy and checked our helmets before we set off. A small group of hotel residents had gathered and waved us off in style. Filipe was extremely professional and friendly and gave us the perfect balance of talking to us about the points of interest and allowing us to take in the sights. The views of the mountains with the morning sun beaming through the peaks was breath taking. Filipe stopped at several points for photos, to switch places (pillion & sidecar) and to talk through the scenic views, describing what we could see with such passion for his island. There were so many photo opportunities along the way, as well as people waving as we passed. It really was the highlight of our holiday and one that we will remember forever. Go on, book it! It is a must do trip in Madeira and one that you will not regret.

Absolutely fabulous! Filipe was an incredible guide, the whole experience was first class. I really cannot recommend highly enough, Filipe was a wealth of information and the helmets come with earpieces and mics so you get a full running commentary as you go along - this is great for asking questions on the move as you pass areas of interest. We had several stop offs at various spots on our tour and each provided breathtaking views. If you are thinking about it, stop thinking and book up - my wife and I absolutely loved it. A huge thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
