This was the best trail run I've ever done! I recommend booking ASAP if you are thinking of a trail run or hike in the mountains in Madeira. My mother in law celebrated her 80th birthday in Madeira and I didn't want to put my marathon training on hold. Since I don't know Madeira and couldn't find official run routes, I contacted Go Trail Madeira. Daniel got back to me quickly, we agreed on the route \Green Mist Fanal\ and an early start at 7am at my hotel so I would be back for lunch. The early start meant that we arrived at the start point in time for sunrise. There was even frost on the ground which is unusual. The first part of the trail took place on a plateau with stunning views into the valleys and over the sea (see attached picture). The second part included a lot of downhill to one of the most beautiful Levada Walks in the UNESCO world heritage laurel forest where it flattened out again before the final km which is an uphill with steps through the forest. Daniel continuously checked we're doing OK and told us a lot about the island, it's history and current issues. I feel I learnt more about Madeira on this run than the rest of my stay. He also took some awesome photos of us which show of the beautiful scenery. It was a great experience and I can't recommend Daniel and Go Trail Madeira highly enough.

If you are planing to book a tour with go trail madeira dont think twice! I went trail running with go trail madeira and it was the best travel experience ever! Beeing on a tour with them gave me the oportunity to see awesome landscapes in unique environments (in non tipical tourism spots). Nice employees, easy booking, outstanding places and incredible photos (that was a great surprise). Cant wait to go there again!
