Rua de Santa Maria has a well-earned reputation for an amazing number of painted doors that are quirky, fun and interesting to see. Focus on the Joao Caetano thru das Torres section & side streets. Try one of the many bars and restaurants up and down this stretch, it is a great place to hang out, enjoy your afternoon sangria, before dinner drink or to spend the evening!

I loved it. The doors are located mainly along the oldest street in Funchal, Rua da Maria. Very diverse art.

Walk along and through the streets of Old Town Funchal to experience the outdoor exhibits of art on the doors of shops and restaurants. There are hundreds! A treat for your observant eyes.
