Actually except the building, which is very interesting, there is not much to see. Archaeological specimens wasn't very sophisticated. 15 bowls, 15 vases, 15 candle holders. In addition lots of similar looking oil paintings. However some of them were interesting. The entry was cheap though.

If you dont have time and opportunity to visit actual algarve traditional homes, I think this is very good to get to know their traditional look. It also had a great photo exhibit of traditional arts. I would just add an audio guide with more info on the presented pieces and maybe a part about music.

I didn't find this place as impressive as the reviews here made it sound. The entry is not expensive, but if you're visiting Algarve on a tight schedule, I would skip this place.

Unbelievable, I wanted to get in and they didn’t have change from 5 euros! They didn’t accept card either so I couldn’t visit the museum! It is absolutely unacceptable.

A well laid out and really intetesting museum which gives an insight into the past lives of people in the Algarve and makes you appreciate our modern way of life with fresh water freely available on tap.
