Both my husband and myself have experienced both the Emergency Department and the general health care and we can both can assure everyone that the professionalism and expertise and care is second to none. My husband suffered from a Cardiac Arrhythmia 18 months ago and he was treated and looked after so well. Now with Dr Hugo Café's on-going support, he is well on the road to recovery. Thanks as well to Luis de Costa working in the administration for the Cardiac Dept. Also, I would like to thank Dra Rita Marcel for her help and support to me personally. Of course thank you too, for all of the other people who provide support throughout the hospital.

Awful experience, this hospital took over 400 from me and didn’t give me my critical test results. I paid 425 for a Down syndrome pregnancy test. I was assured I would receive the results in time for a termination. I didn’t receive the results until I had far exceeded this date making them completely useless to me. Leaving me unsure of the health of my baby throughout my pregnancy. I called, emailed, drove to the HPA hospital countless times to try and get refunded. Although this is no help to the health of my child I feel at the very least I should be refunded. It has been 4 months of wasted time on my part and I have had very little response.

I was operated in 2018 October 8 and the doctor sad it was a succés and all pain will be gone in a couple of weeks and my sense will be back with in a year or so. But I am still in pain and it have gotten worse and my sense are not back after more then 2 years so now I have to se another Doctor again this is a big problem for me since I now can not sleep because of the pain in the aria where i was operated in so I will not recommend this Hospital to any one.

Terrible hospital. Do not go there. Went to the ER Patients are left alone in their bed rooms, the nurses don’t pay attention: they don’t even give them water. It’s a shame.

The Hospital is in breach with its own rules on Covid; The web site says: \call in advance\. however their call center does not accept calls from international phones. So non-portuguese people cannot call the hospital. Fortunately other hospitals do so.

This commentary is long overdue. My husband had two hip replacements at the hospital. His ortho is Dr. João Paulo Sousa and he is followed by Dra. Rita Marçal. Due to Dra. Rita's amazing bed side manner and knowledge, she was able to recognise the limited lifestyle my husband had and made amazing recommendations, including an appointment with Dr. Sousa. My husband has an autoimmune disease so surgery can be very tricky. Dra. Rita managed to speak with his rheumatologist, cardiologist and orthodontist and come up with a plan that was not only successful, but gave my husband his life back! He is a changed person and the art and skill of Dr. Sousa should not go unnoticed. These doctors demonstrated amazing skill, care and assisted us in getting through two major surgeries three months apart. My husband is now dancing in the wind due to their recommendations, I cannot imagine having two back to back surgeries go any better any where else in the world!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Not good, but needed to cancel an appointment, holding on the phone for 15 minutes and not answered. I gave up, so a waste of my time and the doctors as the answering service cannot do their job.
