Ben Austin – A former gallery director, currently art critic/publicist and curator living in Portugal with over 25 years of experience in the art world, an early champion of Urban art, with the first curated gallery show for Banksy and Antony Micallef - ‘Perverse Pop’ - Catto Contemporary, Shoreditch Feb 2002. To a more recent group exhibition showcasing significant contemporary British artists – ‘Art Britannia’ – Design District, Miami, Basel. 2013. He has also works as an art consultant and advisor on various projects and gives tours to VIPs and private collectors around the major global art fairs, such as Basel (Switzerland, Miami and Hong Kong), Frieze (London, New York and LA) and The Armory (New York). He has recently partnered up with Sheree Mitchell of Immersa Global (Miami, Lisbon), together they provide highly curated culinary and cultural tours of Lisbon and Porto for discerning travelers. Ben is a published writer and has been providing content for various publications and online portals over years, such as Artlyst and FAD. He also writes (it now can be revealed) under the pseudonym of Dr. Klaus von Kunst for the local satirical magazine – The Hampstead Village Voice. He has recently become a contributor to the English publications in Portugal - Essential Business and Essential Magazine.
