The city of the Rooster. You have to read about the legend of the Barcelos Rooster. Definitely one of the treasures in northern Portugal and if you like traditional food and well made Barcelos is worthy of a visit!
The birthplace of the legend of the rooster. One of those must see places. Not much left to look at but you gonna have that buzz anyway, just being there. Free to visit, and there are dozens of roosters around town to flood your feed with selfies.
Historical location. Nice view to the river and old roman bridge. Nice down to visit. Must have for pilgrims.
Very beautiful place
Very symbolic bird ( cockerel/rooster) sculptures quite tastefully positioned around this attractive little town.
Interesting place.Right in center of the old quarter of the city.
