Excellent view from the pool, the room and the restaurant. Very supportive, helpful, polite, friendly and caring staff members all over the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, big and well decorated. Big and fine selection of the breakfast. Roomservice was quick and the food tasted very good. The hotel is so huge, very beautiful and modern. A big secured indoor garage for the guests, very good. Easy access, Easy check-in and checkout. I had an excellent stay, more than pleased and overwhelmed by the surroundings. 10 stars!

A 5 star hotel! The rooms are great, the food is great and the view is heavenly. At night you have the bar which had a live piano act which was great. It’s situated on a very pretty part of the Douro, a little bit on the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately didn’t took a pic of the infinity pool since the weather was not the best when I went there but in the summer it’s probably the place to be. It’s not cheap but it’s worth the price. A place on my list to return hoping to have a bit more luck on the weather.
Great location with nice rooms and breathtaking views of the Douro river. The food wasn’t great and the staff - although friendly - still has room to improve the service.
The Douro Royal Valley Hotel is located in a pretty quiet village. Ideal if you wanna get a little rest from the big cities. The design is minimalistic, but I was missing a little bit more atmosphere, it was a bit too cold for me. They really need to fix the touchbuttons of the elevator. It might be fancy looking but everybody I spoke to had a problem with it‘s responsiveness. On the 7th floor there is the outdoor and indoor pool. The outdoor pool is a infinity pool. Narrow but at least pretty long so you can swim some laps if you want. The indoor pool is also big enough for some water fitness or just relaxed swimming. The gym was very small, just had like 4-5 machines in it. I was looking forward for a bit biking, but there was only a treadmill for cardio. If you like a minimalistic style and a calm area you will enjoy the hotel. As you can see in my pictures the location is very cool and the views are awesome!

The rooms are large and very well equipped and the pool is fantastic. Slightly dissalointed with the restaurant for dinner but the facilities and hotel are excellent.
