Be aware when you book this place! It’s a nice Pestana-like hotel and worth four stars in some parts but there are also horrible bungalows with really low standard! The surroundings are beautiful and pool areas nice but living in an old, dirty, moldy bungalow doesn’t seem worth the money. The beds are horrible, the kitchen poorly equipped and the bathroom old. The furniture is old and smells bad and the beds so old! So the 4-stars label is false marketing for sure!

Magical place inside of botanical garden. There’s awesome rosario and the staff was very helpful. Everything was clean and nice

Great for enjoying some days whether with kids or just couples. Mainly two types of accommodations that you can stay: older houses with a rustic touch well involved in the nature. More recent ones in a new are of the "Quinta". 2 swimming pools roughly with the same size in two different areas of property. If you are willing to disconnect and enjoy the surrounding nature, then this remote area of the island is a perfect place for you.

We visited Quinta Do Arco in October 2017. The service was very nice and friendly, but sadly we cant recommend this place – it must have been awesome many years ago but now...: - Black mold in the bungalow – you could see, feel and smell it - it was hard to breathe. - While we tried to sleep the humidity literally came over us – the T-Shirts and the skin were cold and humid. - The garden definitely has seen better times – the roses in the rose garden for example were “outnumbered” by the grass. Maybe some other time than October it looks different… ? - The many wild cats made it impossible to sit or eat on the terrace or to leave the windows and doors open. We had eleven cats sitting on the porches and occupying the seats. - The sheets and the towels had stains. - It was superficial cleaned – but it seemed like there hasnt been some thorough cleaning in the past years. - The oven was broken – it seems the inside of the oven has never been cleaned – the baking tray was rusty. - The timer of the microwave was broken – it was kind of melted. - One of the two pools and the shower of this pool weren't in very good shape – the tiles were broken. Dont go barefoot. - The „playground“ for kids is hard to describe (see for yourself on the pictures). - We booked two nights, but after the first night we left early.

Quaint little hotel. Old buildings are the best. New ones lack ventilation.

This is about visiting rose garden, which has been planned and designed well; a while ago. At this moment 5 entrance fee per person seems to be asked too much. Perhaps, during rose blossoming high season it may be fine if garden is well maintained; looks too wild in August...

The new chalets are comfortable and the area is lush and tranquil. You've got to walk about 5 minutes to get to the nearest restaurant. Not much to do other than hiking/walking. OK for a one night stsy
