Stopped to get a turkey. Ended up buying some sausages as well. Some of the best sausages I've ever had. The owner is really helpful and prices are good (unlike Apolonia which struck me as insanely overpriced).

Visited this Almancil butcher this afternoon and mentioned that I have been looking for a decent vendor in the Algarve after many disappointments, and was told that I had found the right spot. I was informed about the environmental credentials of the meat sourcing, but was a little suspicious that most was frozen (even the fresh meat had been defrosted). However, I needn't have worried. I selected a prime frozen rib-eye beef cut as a tester and defrosted as soon as I got home and barbecued in the evening. It was succulent, tasty, well marbled and very tender. Spot on! Of course, you can be lucky with meat cuts, but I will definitely be back and hopefully I have now found a regular local butcher.

Prima vlees en wijn. Probeer ook vooral de wijn uit Uruguay. Niet goedkoop maar wel formidabel.
